KSrelief delivers food aid to Syrian earthquake victims

The Saudi aid agency KSrelief recently distributed 33,270 bags of wheat flour to victims of the earthquake in Idlib governorate, Syria.

The aid, part of the Zakat Al-Fitr project, benefited 190,620 individuals from the most vulnerable groups, reported the Saudi Press Agency.

KSrelief distributed 20,950 bags of wheat flour to earthquake victims in Idlib, Harem, and the Atmeh camps in Al-Dana, benefiting 116,700 individuals.

Additionally, 12,320 bags of wheat flour were distributed among camps in Afrin and Sharan, benefiting 73,920 displaced persons.

The project aims to distribute 62,250 bags of wheat flour, weighing approximately 1.56 tonnes, to 373,500 individuals affected by the earthquake in the governorates of Idlib and Aleppo.

The food aid comes within the framework of humanitarian efforts provided by the Kingdom through KSrelief to persons in need worldwide.

Since it was established by King Salman in 2015, KSrelief has implemented 2,673 projects worth more than $6.5 billion in 98 countries in cooperation with 175 local, regional and international partners, including UN agencies.

The bulk of the support has gone to Yemen ($4.3 billion), Syria ($391 million), Palestine ($370 million) and Somalia ($227 million).

KSrelief’s programs cover a range of humanitarian aid needs, including food security, health, sanitation, shelter, nutrition, education, telecommunications and logistics.
