The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Jeddah recently organized “Volunteering for Them,” an initiative at the Little Asia festival aimed at providing happy times for more than 30 children with special needs from both the Irada Center and the Day Care Skills Center.
Ahmed Al-Harbi, the assistant director general at the ministry’s branch in the Makkah region, spoke of the significance of trips organized by the volunteering and social responsibility team.
He said that the activities aimed to enhance awareness and foster a sense of belonging among the children. The trips assisted in developing their understanding of the world around them while teaching them to care for the environment.
Al-Harbi said that the tour included observing various agricultural seedlings and ornamental plants and helped the children learn about cultivation methods and preservation.
Turki Al-Sulami and Samah Al-Ghamdi, directors at the Irada and Day Care Skills Center respectively, expressed their gratitude to the ministry’s branch in Makkah, noting that the trip reflected a sincere desire on the part of officials to integrate the group into society, while boosting the children’s self-confidence and enhancing their sense of belonging.
