The Saudi Culinary Arts Commission is hosting an open meeting on Sunday to discuss joining the global Delice Network.
The network aims to promote the culinary industries of 25 member cities around the world.
Saudi Arabia, through the commission, could be represented in the network by Sakaka, a city in the Kingdom’s northwest.
The event, which is part of a series of open meetings led by the commission, will involve culinary experts discussing the importance of joining the network.
Saudi Arabia is engaged in significant efforts to promote local culinary heritage, improve economic opportunities within the sector and make the Kingdom a premier destination for food and culture.
The commission’s meeting aims to draft an international dossier aimed at enlisting Sakaka as the inaugural Arab representative within the Delice Network.
Attendees will be briefed on the work of the network and its overarching objectives, alongside a compelling showcase of member cities.
Sakaka’s status as a cultural landmark will be leveraged as part of the bid for network membership.
Attendees will also discuss the potential benefits of the city’s membership.
