A delegation from the Saudi Ministry of Tourism, led by Deputy Minister of Tourism for International Affairs Sultan Al-Musallam, met Spanish counterparts in Madrid on Thursday as part of the preparations for the launch of a Saudi-Spanish tourism partnership.
The participants also included the Spanish secretary of state for tourism, Rosana Morillo, and senior officials from both countries.
They discussed ways in which their strategic partnership in the tourism sector might be strengthened, including initiatives through which workers in hospitality and hotel management services would receive training at prestigious Spanish institutes, the Saudi Press Agency reported. They also explored ways to boost investment opportunities in the sector in both countries.
Both sides also expressed a desire to promote tourist destinations in the Kingdom and events aimed specifically at Spanish tourists.
