The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, represented by the ministry’s Public Administration of Social Responsibility and Voluntary Work, praised the efforts of the Hajj and Mutamer’s Gift Charitable Association, also known as Hadiyah, in highlighting the role of the non-profit sector in serving pilgrims throughout the year.
The ministry commended the association’s active participation in the Hajj and Umrah Services Conference and Exhibition, which included all governmental, charitable and private sectors operating in the Hajj and Umrah system.
Turki Al-Hetershi, Hadiyah’s executive director, said the association’s participation in the conference was reflected in highlighting the services and efforts of the non-profit sector to serve pilgrims and visitors, and expanding service points, which covered more than 200 points of contact with pilgrims.
Al-Hetershi said that the association also contributed to the launching of the “mobile air conditioner” initiative for pilgrims while performing their rituals, and signing agreements with 18 government, charitable and private entities for integration and cooperation purposes to upgrade the services provided to pilgrims.
The association also played a key role in visually documenting the role of the non-profit sector in the Hajj and Umrah system during the conference, he added.
