NEOM has unveiled its latest project, Zardun, a sanctuary resort designed to elevate luxury tourism in Saudi Arabia. Situated on the Gulf of Aqaba, Zardun is another addition to the array of coastal developments in the NEOM region.
The resort will feature four ultra-luxury buildings, each designed to blend with the natural environment. Spanning 4 sq km, Zardun is set to be a revitalized natural haven, rich in indigenous flora and fauna, stretching from the mountains to the seashore. A highlight for visitors will be the state-of-the-art experience center, complete with a 360-degree observation deck, offering views of the area’s landscapes.
Zardun will host three distinct boutique hotels, comprising a total of 100 rooms and suites. This accommodation is designed with sustainability in mind, harmonizing with the surrounding ecosystem. Each hotel will boast a distinctive theme, providing guests with diverse experiences — from valley to ocean views.
The resort will offer a range of activities including trekking, mountain biking, rock climbing, as well as wellness and relaxation pursuits such as stargazing, meditation and yoga. Additionally, Zardun will engage guests in educational programs focusing on nature protection, conservation and re-wilding.
A key aspect of Zardun’s sustainability strategy involves creating oases and supporting marine life conservation, including the coral reefs in the Gulf of Aqaba.
As the latest development announced by NEOM, Zardun joins other projects such as Leyja, Epicon, Siranna, Utamo, Norlana and Aquellum in advancing sustainable tourism in the Gulf of Aqaba region, underscoring NEOM’s commitment to sustainable development.
