Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Statistics and the National Center for Debt Management have signed an agreement to enhance cooperation, coordination and integration.
The memorandum of understanding calls for the development of a framework for joint activities and tasks, the authority said on Wednesday. It also covers the sharing of technical and scientific expertise and support, the exchange of advice and information, and opportunities for employees of the organizations to participate in professional-development activities including training courses, seminars, scientific conferences and workshops.
The chairman of the statistics authority, Fahd Al-Dosari, and the CEO of the debt center, Hani Al-Madini, represented their organizations at the signing ceremony.
Al-Dosari said the authority’s statistical work plays an important role in helping to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 development and diversification plan, by defining and monitoring statistical indicators. He added that cooperation with the National Center for Debt Management benefits efforts to study statistical data and indicators.
He added that he hopes the partnership agreement will help both organizations develop economic and social statistical products that support the national economy and sustainable development.
Al-Madani said the agreement will play an important role in the exchange of knowledge between government sectors, and improve the ability of authorities to analyze data that helps to measure the Kingdom’s credit strength.
