A motorcycle tour is being organized in Egypt to boost tourism, visiting Luxor in southern Upper Egypt and the Red Sea east of Cairo.
The motorcycle federation — in cooperation with Hawks Egypt — is organizing a tour for members under the slogan “Sweet Home Country.”
The Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion represents the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in supporting the tour.
Suha Jamal, an official at the Ministry of Tourism, said that the tour comprised 57 people from Egypt, India, the US, and some Arab nations.
The itinerary includes Karnak and Luxor temples in Luxor governorate, Hurghada city in Red Sea governorate, and a return to Cairo, Jamal said.
Maha Jalal Eid, general manager of the General Administration of Domestic Offices at the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, said that the tour aims to showcase Egypt’s potential for combining beach and cultural tourism.
It highlights the government’s commitment to developing transportation networks, international airports and highways for seamless travel between cities.
As part of the tour, the authority’s offices in Luxor and the Red Sea will welcome all participants and provide them with the necessary facilities, the official said.
Additionally, they will offer souvenirs and promotional materials about each area and place visited during the tour.
The Tourism Promotion Authority has been sponsoring tours since 2019 with the slogan “Sweet Home Country.”
The Hawks Egypt Club has organized tours in different Egyptian governorates to promote tourism.
These include tours in Fayoum, Beni Suef, Aswan and South Sinai governorates in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Ahmed Mohie, director of the Tourism Promotion Authority office in Cairo, said that the office organizes many events to stimulate tourism in Egypt.
These events exhibit Egypt’s tourism attractions, including significant locations on the Holy Family’s route in Egypt, such as the Al-Muharraq Monastery in Assiut governorate and the Church of the Virgin Mary on Mount Al-Tayr in Minya governorate.
He said that the motorcycle tour was not the first of its kind. It was preceded by tours for residents of many governorates to the cities of Suez and Port Said, including various age groups, to visit several tourist places.
