Taif governor Prince Saud bin Nahar receives consul general of Iraq

Taif Gov. Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Saud on Monday received the consul general of Iraq in Jeddah, Mohammed Samir Al-Naqshbandi, and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, they discussed relations between the two countries and issues of mutual concern.

Al-Naqshbandi, who is also the permanent representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, praised the recent developments that had taken place in the governorate of Taif and other regions throughout the Kingdom.

This year, Iraq was selected as the guest of honor at the second Made in Saudi expo — which recently concluded in Riyadh — in recognition of the strong economic links between the two countries.

A total of 24 Iraqi companies participated in the event, promoting a range of goods and services.

Between 2018 and 2022, non-oil exports from Saudi Arabia to Iraq were valued at SR14.8 billion ($3.95 billion) with the construction materials sector the top exporter (SR4.42 billion).
