Ministry of Interior’s drug awareness, violations exhibition concludes in Jeddah

The Ministry of Interior on Sunday concluded its traveling exhibition in Jeddah aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of drugs, and the regulations regarding residency violations, labor, and border security.

The exhibition looked at educating citizens, residents and visitors about the ministry’s efforts in the campaign called A Nation Without Violators.

The initiative focused on informing the public on the methods for reporting drug smugglers and dealers. It also explained the penalties for violators of residency, labor, and border security regulations, the risks resulting from dealing with offenders, and the role of modern technologies used in confronting them.

In addition, it also focused on the penalties for those who facilitated violators’ entry or transport within the Kingdom, or provided them with shelter, or any assistance or service.

The General Directorate of Border Guard also participated in the traveling exhibition.

Security authorities have urged citizens and residents to report illegal activities relating to drugs by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province. People should phone 999 in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions, and 995 to report to the General Directorate of Narcotics Control. The authorities can also be reached via email on 995@gdnc.gov.sa. All reports will be handled confidentially.
