Jordan’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Statistics to undertake a comprehensive survey of local tourism, Jordan News Agency reported on Tuesday.
The agreement aims to identify the top attractions in the country, as well as determine local tourist spending trends and insights into the purposes of local trips.
The initiative emphasizes Jordan’s need to update and expand data-gathering methods and statistical processes, as well as its requirement to encourage an increase in the contribution the tourism sector makes to the national economy.
The Department of Statistics will use the findings to gain insights into household expenditure trends in local tourism at the completion of the survey.
This data will be instrumental in developing tourist-specific accounting tables and optimizing local initiatives.
