King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has signed two agreements with the United Nations Children’s Fund to provide water, hygiene services, and food support to people in Syria.
The agreements, signed in Riyadh, will see aid worth SR13,125,000 ($3,498,553) distributed to children affected by the earthquake in Syria that took place in February and people at risk in the country.
The first agreement aims to provide life-saving emergency water, sanitation and hygiene services to earthquake-affected children and people at risk in Syria through access to improved water supplies and repairing earthquake-damaged water networks.
15,000 individuals will be supported with a comprehensive water and sanitation package that will include water trucking, sludge removal, solid waste management, and the cleaning and maintenance of toilets. 100,000 people will also be provided with safe drinking water.
The second agreement aims to provide vulnerable Syrian children and people affected by the earthquake with access to nutrition services and micronutrient supplementation.
