Police in the US city of Miami arrested an 18-year-old mother, after she tried to hire a killer to get rid of her 3-year-old son. Jasmine Baez was reported, after filling out a form on a satirical website, to get rid of her child. According to the US “CNN” news network, the police said, “The person who runs the site received the request and contacted us, and after investigation, Baez was arrested on Tuesday night.”
The young woman was charged with soliciting first degree murder. Baez used a false name to submit the request on the site, and requested that her child be disposed of by moving him to a remote location or killed.
How did you get caught?
- Authorities tracked down the young woman and, using the phone number she registered on the website, managed to reach the home of the child’s grandmother, who was raising him.
- The grandmother confirmed that the identity of the child is identical to the photo that was attached to the application submitted to the website.
- A policeman called the phone number, calling Baez the “hire-hitman”.
- Police said Baez agreed to pay $3,000 for the job.
- Baez was taken into custody, and she told the police that she had been in a romantic relationship with someone who did not like her having a son, and this is what prompted him to separate from her.

She explained that she wrote to the site, wanting to get rid of her child, to revive her relationship with the man.
