To enhance the technical partnership.. Al-Sawah meets with the Mayor of Beijing and Chinese government officials

His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha, met today with the Mayor of Beijing, His Excellency Dr. Yen Yong, to strengthen and develop the partnership between the two friendly countries in the fields of technology, space and innovation, in the presence of His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Haitham Al-Ohali, and His Excellency the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques With the People’s Republic of China, Professor Abdul Rahman bin Ahmed Al-Harbi.

His Excellency discussed with His Excellency the Mayor of Beijing the partnership in the field of smart city technologies, efforts to develop technical competencies, in addition to facilitating the entry of Saudi pioneering companies into the markets of the capital, Beijing, in addition to exchanging experiences in a number of technical fields, most notably digital entrepreneurship, and legislation related to the growth of the digital economy.

His Excellency also met with Minister of Science and Technology Wang Zhigang, and together they discussed expanding partnership in the field of research, development and innovation, especially in the aspects of health, environmental sustainability, energy, industry and future economies, which is in line with the national priorities for research, development and innovation launched by the Kingdom.

These meetings come within the framework of the visit that His Excellency Al-Sawah is making these days to the People’s Republic of China, which aims to strengthen relations with government agencies and with private sector companies in the technical fields, and develop the system of emerging national companies, in addition to attracting and attracting investments and venture capital funds.
