WhatsApp offers a new feature to transfer conversations easily

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, announced a new feature in its WhatsApp application that allows conversations to be transferred from one phone to another easily, according to what was stated in a post on the social networking site Facebook.

Zuckerberg shared a video explaining how the new feature works, which allows transferring all conversations from one phone to another by scanning the QR Code from the old phone using the phone that the user wants to transfer the conversations to, provided that the same WhatsApp account is used, of course.

According to Zuckerberg, the new transfer method is more clear and secure, and the transfer only occurs between the two devices, and the transmitted data is encrypted with end-to-end encryption technology.

This new feature eliminates the use of backup copies of conversations that are uploaded and downloaded from cloud storage services, whether iCloud on iPhones or Google Drive on Android devices, or the use of external programs, which may be complex or paid.

Currently, the new feature allows the transfer of conversations between devices running the same operating system, that is, from one Android phone to another, and from one iPhone to another, and it is not possible to transfer conversations from Android to iPhone, or vice versa at the present time.
Users can access the new feature on their devices by opening the WhatsApp application, then going to Settings > then clicking on Chats > then choosing Transfer Chats on the old phone, and then the QR Code will appear on the screen, and when you scan it using the new phone The transfer will start over a secure wireless connection between both devices directly, and this feature allows the transfer of photos and videos as well as text messages.

WhatsApp has made many new features available recently, including the Channels feature, locking conversations, the ability to use one account on more than one device at the same time, and others.
