From acting to training Russian soldiers… Ukraine mocks Steven Seagal

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, in a tweet on its official Twitter account, mocked the American actor Steven Seagal, who will supervise special combat training for Russian soldiers.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense said that there have been reports of Seagal’s intention to train Russian soldiers in martial arts, and the exercises will also include ways to escape and avoid the opponent.

She added, “Thanks to Sigal’s training, Russian soldiers will be able to flee the battlefield.”

And according to the “New York Post” newspaper, quoting the Russian “TASS” news agency, Seagal, who became a Russian citizen in 2016, appeared at the opening of a sports training center on Saturday, and said that martial arts can help make the world a better place, calling for Accelerate the development of the martial art of “Aikido”.

According to the American newspaper, the new center will be dedicated to preparing young people to serve in the Russian armed forces, as part of a comprehensive initiative, the details of which will be revealed later.

Last February, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded Seagal the Order of Friendship.

The announcement of awarding Seagal the Friendship Medal came in a decree published on the Russian government’s portal on the Internet.

The Russian government awards this medal to people who have made contributions to the improvement of international relations.

Seagal is a staunch supporter of Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014, and last year visited the Russian-controlled Ukrainian town of Olenivka, where dozens of Ukrainian prisoners of war were killed in an attack in which Russia and Ukraine blamed each other.

The Russian Foreign Ministry chose Seagal in 2018 to be its humanitarian envoy to the United States and Japan.
