Russia tests the “Storm” missile ship weapons

The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense announced successful tests of the weapons of the military ship “Borea” or (Storm), which was developed for the army.

A statement issued by the service read: “Recently, successful firing tests were conducted at sea from the weapons of the ship “Borea” (Storm), which was developed for the Russian army’s Baltic Fleet, and firing was conducted from the Pantsir-M system on board the ship, and a hit was made. objectives successfully.

The statement added, “During the government tests that the ship is subjected to, its crew, in cooperation with experts from the manufacturing team, performs maneuvers to experience the movement of the ship at high speeds, and they test its various systems, armament equipment, and communications equipment in it, and the purpose of the tests is to conduct a comprehensive examination of the quality of the ship and verify its conformity with its specifications.” with the specifications put forward during its design project.

And “Boria” is the fourth ship of the “Karakurt” type that was built in the Russian “Bella” factory within the framework of the government project 22800, and work began on its manufacture in 2016 and it was launched into the water for the first time in 2018.

Each of the Russian “Karkurt” missile ships is 67 meters long, 11 meters wide, and has a water displacement of 800 tons. It can sail for distances of up to 2,500 miles at a speed of 30 knots, and complete missions that last for 15 days.

The basic armament of these ships includes the new AK-176MA 76.2 mm cannons, AK-630M anti-aircraft systems, and Kalibr-NK offensive missiles.
