It is known that the earlier the diagnosis of cancer, the more effective the treatment, but some types of disease may show symptoms that can be confused with other less serious conditions.
Among those cancers is cervical cancer, a type of cancer that develops in a woman’s cervix — the opening between the vagina and uterus.
“Cervical cancer in its early stages often produces no signs or symptoms, which is why it’s so important to have your cervix checked regularly,” explained Valentina Milanova, founder of Daye, a women’s health research and development company.
Most women with the disease do not show symptoms until the cancer reaches an advanced stage, but some signs may actually be a symptom of this cancer, which is what you should know.
“Unexplained” and “persistent” pelvic and back pain were included as a sign of the disease. This pain is often caused by the tumor pressing on bones, nerves, or organs.
Dr Milanova said: ‘There are several reasons a woman may experience pelvic or back pain that are unrelated to cervical cancer. However, if you are experiencing lower back pain or persistent pain between the hip bones, it may be an indication of changes in the neck. uterus, so it is important to consult a doctor.
Dr. Milanova revealed that, in addition to severe and chronic pain in the back, there are other symptoms of cervical cancer that it is necessary to know, including abnormal vaginal bleeding, abnormal secretions, loss of appetite, constipation, pain during intercourse, blood in the urine, and even urinary incontinence. .
There is no way to prevent cervical cancer, but the risk can be reduced with some lifestyle changes.
