The head of Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Neradko stated that the EU sanctions, imposed on Russia in response to the special military operation in Ukraine, are aimed at destroying domestic aviation, but the Russian authorities will not allow this.
“It was not possible to destroy Russian civil aviation thanks to the right and timely decisions of the authorities and the main specialists of the aviation industry,” Neradko noted in an interview with the “RBK” agency on Tuesday.
Neradko called overcoming the consequences of sanctions his main task as head of the Federal Air Transport Agency.
He also stressed that “the closest partners of Russian aviation are the countries and companies that have not stopped flying to Russia.
53 airlines from 26 countries have not grounded flights, and their number is growing.
On January 27, in an interview with “Sputnik”, Sergey Chemezov, CEO of the Russian state corporation “Rostec”, said that the “MS-21” passenger plane will be certified and will enter production by the end of 2024.
“In 2023, we plan to start testing other systems in the aircraft in order to certify an all-Russian aircraft by the end of 2024 and start mass production. Some of these systems are already undergoing bench tests,” Chemezov said.
