Saudi Traffic approves a fine of up to 5,000 riyals in this case

The Saudi Traffic has approved a fine of 5,000 riyals, in the case of transport vehicles evading the weights and dimensions measurement stations.
According to what was published by the Saudi newspaper, “Okaz”, the Saudi Minister of Interior, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, ratified the amendment of Article 23 of the executive regulations of the traffic system.
The latest amendment to this article, which is concerned with vehicle weights and dimensions and their examination, stressed the punishment of “whosoever exceeds the station for measuring the weights and dimensions of road transport vehicles with a fine of 5,000 riyals.”
According to the amendment as well, the fine is doubled when the violation is repeated, but it sets an upper limit for this doubling, “not to exceed 100,000 riyals within a year of committing the first violation,” according to the text of the amendment.
The amendment, which was ratified by the Saudi minister, also approved “the obligation of transport vehicles allowed to travel on the roads, to adhere to the approved weights and dimensions issued by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization,” stressing the punishment of “anyone who violates the total weight of transport vehicles determined according to the size of the excess weight.”

If the total excess weight is “between 200-2000 kilograms, the value of the violation is 200 riyals per 100 kilograms, and if it is between 2,100-5,000 kilograms, the value of the violation will be 300 riyals per 100 kilograms, and if it is between 5100-7,000 kilograms, it is The value of the violation is 400 riyals per 100 kilograms, and if it is between 7100 – 10,000 kilograms, the value of the violation is 500 riyals per 100 kilograms, and if it is more than 10,100 kilograms, the value of the violation is 800 riyals per 100 kilograms.
