“Saudi Passports” publishes a clarification on the period for issuing a passport… 5 or 10 years?

The General Directorate of Saudi Passports confirmed that the duration of passport issuance varies according to the age group, as it is 5 years for those under 21 years old, and 10 years for those who have reached 21 years or more.
According to a statement published by the General Directorate of Saudi Passports through its account on the social networking site Twitter, it clarified that “issuing or renewing a passport for a period of 5 years only is for those under 21 years, and that the renewal for a period of 10 years is for those who have completed or exceeded 21 years.”

Regarding the passport renewal fee, she said that it amounts to 300 riyals for five years, and 600 riyals for 10 years, provided that “the beneficiary’s record is free of traffic violations to be able to issue or renew the passport.”
Regarding the renewal mechanism, the statement pointed out that “for those who have reached 21 years of age or more, the passport can be issued or renewed through their personal account on the “Absher” platform, while the passport is issued to children under 12 years old, by entering the “Absher – Individuals – Individuals and Services” platform. Family members”, then “Services”, then select “Issue / renew the Saudi passport”, and a list of service requirements will appear.
