Today, Saturday, the Saudi authorities replaced the covering of the Kaaba in Mecca, coinciding with the advent of the Islamic New Year.
The official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said that “the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque replaced the covering of the Kaaba, as was the annual custom, through a specific work team from the King Abdulaziz Complex for the covering of the Kaaba, where the team began to dismantle the old cladding and install The new one, then installed in the corners of the Kaaba and its surface.

The cladding is covered on the outside with inscriptions woven with black textile threads (in the jacquard manner) inscribed with the words (Oh God, O God), (There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God), (Glory be to God and praise be to God), (Glory be to God the Great) and (O Dayan Ya Manan). These phrases are repeated on all the covering cloths.
The number of pieces of the covering belt of the Kaaba is 16 pieces, in addition to 6 pieces, 12 lamps at the bottom of the belt, four stamens placed in the corners of the Kaaba, and five lamps (God is Greatest) on top of the Black Stone, in addition to the outer curtain of the door of the Kaaba.
