Bin Salman’s visit to France results in strengthening cooperation in defense and renewable energy

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia confirmed that the visit of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to France, during which they discussed mechanisms for strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the fields of defense and renewable energy.
According to the final statement of the visit, which was published by the newspaper “Okaz”, the meeting of the Crown Prince with French President Emmanuel Macron dealt with a review of the historical and strategic relations between the two countries, and ways to develop them in all fields. Views were exchanged on the overall current regional and international situations.
On the economic level, the statement indicated that bin Salman and Macron discussed “ways to deepen the investment partnership between the two countries by raising the pace of investment and economic cooperation, enhancing cooperation in the fields of renewable energy such as solar and wind energy, and cooperation in the field of clean hydrogen.”
The statement pointed out that the talks touched on “the importance of stabilizing global energy markets, stabilizing and uninterrupting food supplies of wheat and grains to all countries of the world, maintaining an abundance of supply and stabilizing prices.”

The statement referred to a number of regional and international issues that were reviewed at the Saudi-French dialogue table, including the Lebanese issue, explaining that Macron and bin Salman affirmed their countries’ support for “Lebanon’s sovereignty, security and stability, and the importance of implementing comprehensive political and economic reforms, and expressed their satisfaction with the work of the Saudi-French Fund to support Lebanon”. Humanitarian and relief work in Lebanon with the highest standards of transparency.
Bin Salman paid an official visit to France at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, from 27 to 29 July.
