Tesla CEO Elon Musk denied late Sunday that he had an affair with the wife of the Google co-founder.
Elon Musk said on Twitter that he and Google co-founder Sergey Brin were still friends and denied a report that he had an affair with Brin’s wife Nicole Shanahan.
Musk dismissed the report, saying on Twitter, “Sergey and I are friends and we were at a party together last night. I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years and both times with so many other people. No romantic relationship,” according to Reuters.
Musk’s tweets came after a Wall Street Journal report cited anonymous sources as saying he had a brief affair with Nicole Shanahan.
According to the famous newspaper, Nicole had an affair with Musk last December, while they were attending an art exhibition in Miami.
The lawsuit prompted Brin, who has a fortune of $95 billion, to file for Shanahan’s divorce earlier this year, citing “differences” as the reason for the divorce.
Sources said Shanahan would only get $1 million for the divorce, due to a prenuptial agreement between her and the Google founder.
The new report surprised many, because of the friendship between Brin and Musk, especially since the former helped with a “generous loan” to Elon Musk when he launched Tesla years ago.
Tesla and Google did not immediately respond to Reuters requests for comment outside normal business hours.
