The Egyptian director, Mohamed Diab, revealed that he was very pleased with the nomination of his series “Moon Light” to 8 Emmy Awards, explaining that the nomination is a great appreciation for the work in which he made a great effort during two years as a director and executive producer.
The Egyptian director said during an interview with the “Sky News Arabia” website, “When a person performs an artistic work, he is waiting for appreciation from the audience and art critics, and thank God, the series (Moonlight) has achieved very high viewing rates, and was well written about it before. critics”.
Diab added, “After the series was nominated for 8 Emmy awards, I felt that I was on the right path and that my effort was appreciated, and this is an invaluable feeling.”
He pointed out that “the Hollywood dream he had had since he started in the field of directing, and he wished to share his films on the largest scale.”
And he continued: “When I presented the movie Clash and entered the Cannes Festival, and also the movie Princess, and entered the Venice Festival, I had an agent in Hollywood, and therefore my wife and I traveled to the United States to live in, and I started there from scratch, and we searched for a suitable project until an idea emerged. (Moonlight), we presented our vision to Marvel, and I was chosen as the director of the work.
He continued, “The experience was very important to me, and it affected me positively, and made me believe that dreams become reality one day, and my confidence increased that a person can do anything as long as he makes a great effort and strives for it.”
And about the competition between him and Arab directors and how he sees himself after the success of the work, Diab said: “I am a person who works only and Egypt is full of talents, and we are not in competition. Arabs and Egyptians are breaking into Hollywood and doing great things.”
Diab concluded by talking about his ambitions and dreams that he seeks in the future, saying that he hopes to present other works of art in Hollywood, related to Egyptian culture, and bringing cultures closer to each other.
