Dr. Mohamed Melhak, a virologist, revealed the reason for the recent increase in cases of coronavirus in Algeria.
The Algerian newspaper, An-Nahar, quoted Melhak as saying, “We cannot say that Algeria is in a fifth wave of the Corona epidemic,” noting that the recorded rise in cases of infection these days is expected, and is an inevitable result because the virus is in constant evolution and development.
The specialist stressed that there is a general case of “forgetting preventive measures and even the demand for vaccination”, and he expected a high frequency of Covid 19 in Algeria, in addition to global indicators.
Melhak reassured the Algerians about the stability in the epidemiological situation on the one hand and the absence of danger, noting that to this day no hospitalizations or intensive care cases have been recorded, and no deaths have been recorded.
It is noteworthy that, during the last period, a significant increase in the number of injuries and deaths was observed in France, Italy, Germany and England. And for these countries we have a community on their level.
Yesterday, Thursday, the Algerian Ministry of Health announced the registration of 28 new cases of coronavirus in Algeria, while no deaths were recorded, during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of coronavirus infections in Algeria to 266,356 cases.
