3 Tunisian tennis referees suspended for match-fixing

The International Tennis Integrity Agency has announced the suspension of 3 lower-level Tunisian referees for match-fixing after they were found guilty of intentionally introducing false results.
Today, Friday, the agency responsible for supervising the game stated that Majd Afifi was banned for 20 years after being convicted of 12 charges related to events between 2017 and 2020, according to the Associated Press.
Mohamed Ghassan Sneen and Abdel Rahim Gharsallah were also sentenced to seven years in prison after being convicted of four counts related to an event in Tunisia in 2020.
The agency stated that the charges “related to the referees’ tampering with the results entered into their electronic recording devices, which do not reflect the actual results.”
