A minor child committed suicide by hanging in front of his handicapped father, in the municipality of Hamala, north of the Algerian state of Mila, after a man used him for physically harmful and immoral acts, according to the newspaper “Al-Shorouk”.
Regarding the details of this case, “Al-Shorouk” indicated that the child, a primary student named “J.A.D.” (9 years old), attempted to commit suicide by hanging with a veil that was tied to an iron frame of the interior door of his house located in Mistah Lassaf, while a woman entered She lives next to his house quickly, but this prevents this, as the child “suffers from harsh social conditions, as he was exploited by human wolves in a mountainous, remote and conservative area.”
Members of the National Gendarmerie Regional Division began investigating the case, and through a follow-up from the National Gendarmerie Research Team in Mila, where a 40-year-old man living in the municipality of Hamala was arrested, in the two cases of “exploitation of a minor child by employing him and assigning him to work that is harmful to his health and physical and moral integrity, with his incitement.” On the corruption of morals, encouraging him and facilitating him, which prompted him to try to end his life in front of the eyes of his physically disabled father, who was unable to save his son as he watched him hanging from a veil tied to the frame of the iron door of the house, had his neighbor not intervened and screamed to save him.
Investigations revealed that the reason for the child’s suicide attempt was “the constant harassment and threats of death by means of a dagger by the accused B.H, if the child did not bring the medicine he prescribed to him and which his sick father with mental illness takes, in addition to the exploitation of the child in satisfying his sexual desires. And he beat him from time to time, so that the man in his forties was immediately arrested in one of the city’s streets and interrogated in the case.
The Algerian authorities took legal measures against the accused, and he was brought before the Public Prosecutor at the Mila Court to consider his case, after hearing his testimony.
