Mina is considered to have a historical and religious status, by which the Prophet of God Abraham, peace be upon him, threw the Jamarat, and slaughtered the ransom of Ismail, peace be upon him, then the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, confirmed this act in the Farewell Pilgrimage and shaved, and Muslims follow his Sunnah by throwing the pebbles, slaughtering their gifts and shaving.
Al-Masha’ar is famous for its historical landmarks, including the three pillars that are thrown, and the “Al-Khayef” mosque, whose name is derived from what descended from the mountain’s thickness and rose from the watershed, located on the southern slope of Mount Mina, and close to the Lesser Jamrah.

Among the famous historical events that took place in Mina were the first and second pledges of Aqaba. In the 12th year of the Hijrah, the first was with 12 men from the Aws and the Khazraj to pledge allegiance to the Messenger of God – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – followed by the second in the Hajj of the 13th year of the Hijrah, in which 73 men pledged allegiance to him, peace be upon him. And two women from the people of Medina in the same site, which is located to the north-east of Jamarat al-Aqaba, where the Abbasid Caliph Abu Jaafar al-Mansur built the Allegiance Mosque in the year 144 AH, located at the bottom of “Thubair” mountain near the people of the pledge of allegiance to Aqaba.

Saudi Arabia has provided security, medical and catering services and means of transportation to facilitate the Hajj pilgrims to the House of God and to perform their rituals with spirituality and tranquility, stressing on government and service agencies the importance of striving to implement everything that would make their tasks successful during the Hajj season.
