Spanish fighter escorted the “EasyJet” plane

A British teenager faces a hefty fine for posting a false bomb threat on an EasyJet flight.

The 18-year-old, while traveling from Britain to the Spanish island of Menorca, published a post on social media, stating that there was a bomb on his plane.

 

And according to the British newspaper “Metro”, a Spanish fighter scrambled to escort the plane after the Spanish Air Force was informed of the alleged threat.

And a video clip, filmed from inside the cabin of the “EasyJet” Spanish fighter, showed it asking the British plane to catch up with it.
The Spanish police said in a statement that they had asked the plane, after landing, to a special area far from the passenger terminal.

After examining the plane and the passengers’ belongings with the help of sniffer dogs, the police found that there was no bomb.
“Metro” quoted a spokesman for the Spanish Civil Guard as saying: “An 18-year-old British citizen has been arrested as being accused of the crime of disturbing public order.”

According to the spokesman, the accused was interrogated along with five of his companions, who testified that he was the one who spread the false threat.
The British newspaper did not reveal whether the Spanish authorities had released the teenager, but indicated that he might be subjected to a fine of up to 50 thousand pounds, representing the costs of the inspection process carried out by the police, in addition to the possibility of claiming “EasyJet” also for financial compensation from him. .
