Algerian referee Mohamed Basmi made a fatal mistake during his management of the fight between Moroccan boxer Amina Belhabib and French Lamia Benmeshel at the Mediterranean Games in Oran.
Moroccan boxing had imposed its control over its French competitor and decided the total of the rounds in its favour, but the referee in Bismi surprised everyone after the end of the fight by announcing the victory of the French boxing.
The Moroccan boxing technical team immediately protested to the jury, which in turn quickly alerted the referee to correct the error.

After that, the referee changed his decision and corrected the blunder, announcing the victory of Moroccan boxing.
According to media reports, the Algerian referee claimed that he did not listen carefully to the result of the match from the referees committee, and that is why he announced the victory of the French boxer, Lamia Benmeshel, instead of her Moroccan competitor.
