Erdogan: Sweden and Finland should take concrete steps against the PKK and the People’s Protection Units

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday, during a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, that Sweden and Finland should take concrete steps against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and the People’s Protection Units (YPG), which Ankara considers “terrorist organisations”, before the approval of the agreement. Erdogan stressed, according to a statement by the Turkish presidency, “the need for Sweden and Finland to take concrete steps towards the PKK and the People’s Protection Units.”
Erdogan also stressed, during the call with Stoltenberg, “the need for Sweden and Finland to pledge to lift sanctions and restrictions on the supply of defense industry products to Turkey.”
