A girl steals a large sum of money that was intended for her mother’s surgery and is shopping for it

A Chinese teenager stole a large sum of money from her mother who intended to have surgery, and instead went on an online shopping spree.
After the money disappeared, the mother and her husband called the police in Baoding, north China’s Hebei Province, to report that their 14-year-old daughter had taken 120,000 yuan (US$18,000) to shop online and buy mobile phones, clothes and food, according to Chinese media.
The police contacted the online shopping platform, and found that the girl had spent about 4,500 dollars, so she informed the platform that the buyer was a minor and was using stolen money in an attempt to recover the amount, and indeed she succeeded in recovering part of it.
The family had saved the money in the hope of operating on the mother, who suffers from pain in the lower back vertebrae.
