American actor Chris Evans has attacked critics of the animated movie “Lighttier”, which he stars in with his voice, and has been banned in many countries of the world, because it contains a scene of a kiss between two lesbian characters.
“Those who react negatively to the film should be ignored,” Evans said in an interview with Reuters.
“The real truth is that these are idiots,” he continued.
“Every time social progress happens while we wake up, it’s the American story, the human story is a story of social awakening and continuous growth, and that’s what makes us good,” he added.
“There will always be people who are afraid and unaware, trying to hold on to the beliefs of the past, but these people will die and go extinct like dinosaurs,” Chris Evans said.
“I think the goal is to give them no attention, to move forward and embrace the growth that makes us human,” he added.
The movie “Lighttier” was banned in the United Arab Emirates because it depicted homosexuality, and the company “Disney” that produced it was unable to obtain permission to show it in 13 other countries in the Middle East and Asia.
Chris Evans embodies the role of American astronaut Buzz Lightyear in the animated film, “Lighttier”, which is inspired by the famous cartoon films “Toy Story”, which deals with the stories of a group of children’s games.
Evans achieved resounding fame for his role as the superhero “Captain America”, in the “Avengers” series of films, based on the “Marvel” comics.
