Jennifer Aniston accuses a number of celebrities of accessing the world of stardom “for free”

Jennifer Aniston has sparked a backlash over comments she made about influencer culture and the way young people gain fame.

Aniston spoke during an interview for a variety show about fame in 2022 and noted the rise of personalities like Paris Hilton and Monica Lewinsky to fame with the rise of internet culture and social media.

“While the internet has really shaped a new culture around people getting famous, a number of people have become famous but basically they do nothing, I mean Paris Hilton, Monica Lewinsky, and many more,” Aniston said.

Aniston indicated that she was one of the lucky people because she worked hard to make her name, unlike what is happening now, where people are gaining fame due to Internet services, she said.

And she added, “You’re popular from Tik Tok, you’re popular from YouTube, you’re popular because of Instagram, it’s a bit like weakening the actors’ job.”

A number of social media users accused her of trying to regain her fame through this dialogue and talking about celebrities at the present time.

While a large number of people stood by her and supported her idea, considering that many celebrities have now risen to stardom because of social networking sites.
