The Queen of Britain sets a new record

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II has become the second longest-reigning monarch in the modern world.

This new figure came days after the Queen of Britain celebrated the Platinum Jubilee, that is, the Queen’s accession to the throne of the country for seven consecutive decades.

Queen Elizabeth broke the record for sitting on the British throne in 2015, when she surpassed the record of her grandmother, Queen Victoria, who ruled for 63 years.
And Sky News reported, on Sunday, that the Queen of Britain overtook the King of Thailand, Bhumibol Adulyadej, who took the throne for 70 years and 126 days between 1946 and 2016.

And still Louis XIV, King of France, has the longest sitting on the throne, with 72 years and 110 days, and he ruled between 1643 and 1715.

Earlier this June, the 96-year-old British Queen celebrated the Platinum Jubilee, during celebrations held in Britain and the Commonwealth of Nations.

The Queen did not participate in most of the celebrations in Britain, due to her health problems, but she appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace at the conclusion of those celebrations, where she saluted the masses.
