Khadija Cengiz comments on the possible meeting between Joe Biden and Mohammed bin Salman

Khadija Cengiz, the fiancée of the late Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, commented on the possible meeting between US President Joe Biden and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
“President Biden’s decision to hold a meeting with Mohammed bin Salman is very disturbing to me and to supporters of freedom and justice everywhere,” Khadija Cengiz said in statements to CNN.

She added, “President Biden, if he meets Mohammed bin Salman, will lose his moral compass and greatly increase my sadness.”
Earlier today, the British newspaper, the Financial Times, published an analytical article in which it revealed the reason for the shift in the position of the US administration led by Biden towards Saudi Arabia, after the estrangement that the two countries witnessed following the killing of the Saudi dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
The authors of the article, Felicia Schwartz and Derek Brewer, believe that Biden was forced to thaw with Saudi Arabia in light of the high oil prices, despite Biden’s pledge upon his candidacy for the presidency of the country to treat Saudi Arabia as a pariah state due to the Khashoggi murder incident and talk about the involvement of Saudi officials in the crime.
Today, Saturday, US media revealed that US President Joe Biden’s planned visit to Saudi Arabia and Israel later this month has been postponed to next July.

NBC News quoted sources as saying that the White House is now planning a broader trip to the Middle East next month.
A senior official in the US administration told the network: “We are working to organize a visit to Israel and Saudi Arabia to attend the GCC +3 summit,” continuing: “We are working to confirm the dates. When we have something to announce, we will do so.”
In the same context, a foreign diplomat and two US officials said that the visit to Saudi Arabia will not take place in late June, stressing at the same time that the trip to Israel has also been postponed. On Friday, they added, they learned of the postponed travel plans.
