Will Smith’s slap against Oscars presenter Chris Rock is back in the spotlight, with the Hollywood star’s wife Pinkett Smith expressing her hope that “the two men will reconcile and talk.”
During the final episode of her “Red Table Talk” show, Wednesday, Pinkett said, “We need both, and in fact we all need each other more than ever.”
Pinkett talked about her alopecia areata, noting that she had received thousands of messages from people with this disease after the Oscars incident.
She added that she wanted to turn the Oscars incident into a “teachable moment”, as she explored how vixen affects millions of people and the “shame” that surrounds it.
And last March, Smith Rock was suddenly slapped on stage, after the latter mocked his wife’s shaven head.
The unprecedented event prompted the Oscars Academy, to decide to ban Smith from participating in any party or event it will organize for a period of 10 years.
Smith apologized to Rock after the incident, for his “unacceptable and inexcusable” behavior.
“The jokes on my account are part of the work, but the jokes about Pinkett’s medical condition were too much for me to handle and my reaction was emotional,” he added in a statement on Instagram.
