The “Goodfellas” star… the death of the famous American actor Ray Liotta

Famous American actor Ray Liotta, star of Martin Scorsese’s “Goodfellas” movie, has died at the age of 67, US media reported.

And the TMZ website, which specializes in celebrity news, reported, quoting a source close to the actor, that Liotta died in his sleep.

The actor passed away in the Dominican Republic, where he was shooting a movie, according to the country’s Directorate General of Cinema.

“Our information indicates that (Liotta) was in the Dominican Republic with his wife, who begs you to respect her grief,” a spokesperson for the directorate told AFP.
Many consider the movie “Goodfellas”, which included prominent names, including Robert De Niro, as one of the most important films of the twentieth century.

In addition to his role as a mafia man in this 1990 film, Ray Liotta was known to American audiences for his role as a baseball player in the 1989 movie “Field of Dreams” starring Kevin Costner.

Ray Liotta first rose to prominence on the big screen in 1986 with his participation in “Something Wild,” for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
