A man and his wife decided to receive a Ukrainian refugee in their home, after sympathizing with her humanitarian condition, but a surprise occurred a few days later.
The British newspaper “The Sun” reported that security guard Tony Garnett, 29, a father of two children, was living a happy life with his wife Lorna, 28, in Bradford, England, noting that things turned upside down after they decided to receive refugee Sophia. Karkadem, 22, in their home.
Sofia fled the Ukrainian city of Lviv, and the United Kingdom chose a destination for her.
Just 10 days after Sophia entered the new house, Garnett fell in love with her, which his wife Lorna discovered, causing her to ask Sophia to leave.
The “Sun” revealed that the Ukrainian refugee left, followed by Tony, which was a shocking surprise to Lorna, noting that they moved together to the house of Garnett’s parents.
“We plan to spend the rest of our lives together,” Tony said, adding: “We are sorry for the pain we have caused, but feelings for Sophia have never been felt before.”
For her part, Karkadem said: “I loved it at first sight… Our love story was very fast… I know people will say I’m bad, but this thing happens.”
“During that short period of time, I came to the conclusion that Tony was unhappy with his wife,” she said.
The lovers began searching for a suitable property, and Tony applied for a permanent visa for Sophia.
