A submarine has spotted the march of a strange creature in the depths of the Pacific Ocean, and its images made headlines and social media, as many compared it to a creature from “another world”.
Reports indicated that the strange creature is somewhat similar to a “strange shopping bag” and swims in the depths of the ocean at a depth of about 7,221 feet (2,201 meters).
The scenes recorded last March, by a submarine marching southeast of Honolulu, made headlines because of the strange shape of the creature, whose guts all appeared.
The ROV was flying over an unexplored seamount in Kingman Reef and Palmyra Atoll when the ROV’s supervisors discovered the creature. This stuff is always so exciting and amazing, what a wonderful creature.
The researcher noted that this strange-shaped creature is nothing but a cultivar of sea cucumbers or “Holothurion”, which is a very diverse group that spreads across the waters of the Pacific Ocean, and it belongs to a family called “Elpidiidae”, according to “Live Science”.
Deep-sea cucumbers are “scavengers” (creatures that live on detritus) who feed on the barrages of skin cells and dead animals that fall to the ocean floor.
