The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, performed the funeral prayer for the body of his brother, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, at the Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed the First Mosque in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and the Sheikhs of Al Nahyan buried the body of the President of the Emirates to his final resting place, and he was buried in the Al Bateen Cemetery in Abu Dhabi, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
And the Emirates News Agency announced that the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, will receive the condolences of the members of the Supreme Council of the Union, the rulers of the Emirates in the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, tomorrow, Saturday, at the Mushrif Palace.
Today, Friday, the United Arab Emirates announced the death of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Official mourning was announced and the flags at half-mast on Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for a period of 40 days, starting today.
Work has also been suspended in ministries, departments, federal and local institutions, and the private sector for 3 days, starting today.
It is noteworthy that Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan was elected as the second president of the UAE, on November 3, 2004.
Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed assumed his duties as ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, after the death of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who was elected the country’s first president on December 2, 1971, and who died on November 2, 2004.
