Justin Bieber is set to make a surprise appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this weekend.
According to TMZ, the 28-year-old pop star will join Daniel Caesar on stage Friday to perform his hit 2021 song Peaches, which featured the 27-year-old Canadian singer as well as Giveon.
Production sources did not confirm if Giveon, 27, who is scheduled to perform at the Indio, California festival on Saturday, would also be part of the Friday performance.
Justin will be performing in between stops on his Justice World Tour. The Baby hitmaker last performed at the FTX Arena in Miami on Wednesday.
The Yummy singer’s next scheduled appearance is on April 19 at the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati.
Per TMZ, Justin may perform more than one song at the iconic music festival, which returned after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Justin last performed at Coachella in 2019 when he joined Ariana Grande for a surprise duet of the headliner’s song Sorry.
The star’s friend Ryan Good later revealed that appearing with Ariana, 28, inspired Justin to return to making music after a five-year break.
Ryan told NME, ‘Justin was going back and forth whether it was the right time or not. I think (Justin’s manager) Scooter (Braun) was thinking he should have this opportunity to go out on that stage so he could be reminded himself and of who he is and what he does.’
He added, ‘It kind of seemed like a turning point for him to where he was like, “I think I’m ready to do this again. I think I need to do this again.” As he was walking of stage, he said that to Allison (Kaye – Justin’s management), he said, “I need to get back out here.”’
The Canada native went on to release his fifth studio album Changes in February 2020 and his sixth studio album Justice in March 2021.
Peaches, which was the fifth single from Justice, debuted at number one on the Billboard 100 chart.
Its success led Justin the first male soloist to simultaneously debut a song and an album at number one in the US.
Peaches received four nominations at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance and Best Music Video.
