ADNOC Logistics Acquires Two New LNG Ships

ADNOC Logistics and Services, the integrated marine shipping and logistics arm of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and the largest integrated logistics company in the region, announced today, Tuesday, the signing of a contract to build two new LNG vessels with a volume of 175,000 cubic metres.
According to WAM, the two ships will be key factors in achieving ADNOC’s 2030 strategy, and will support the growth of the company’s current business in the field of liquefied natural gas and its ambitions to develop its production capacity. The two ships will be built at the Jiangnan Shipyard in China.
ADNOC Logistics & Services owns and operates the largest and most diversified fleet of cargo ships and boats in the Middle East. Its merchant fleet transports crude oil, refined products, dry bulk, containers, LPG and LNG to global markets through its owned and chartered vessels.
“Expanding our fleet will be a key factor for ADNOC Logistics and Services’ growth,” said the company’s CEO, ADNOC Logistics and Services, according to the agency.
“Through this acquisition, we are preparing to meet future needs with advanced and sustainable vessels, and be able to serve our customers for the next 25 years,” he added.
According to WAM: “The two new LNG ships, each with a capacity of 175,000 cubic meters, are much larger than the LNG ships in ADNOC’s current fleet, with a capacity of 137,000 cubic meters each. Each of the two ships will carry The two new projects will provide enough LNG to power 45,000 homes for a year, as the acquisition of larger, more energy-efficient vessels will allow ADNOC Logistics & Services to meet growing customer demand while improving the environmental footprint of its fleet.”
