Russia’s Commissioner for Human Rights announces the return of 4 Rosatom employees who were held hostage in Ukraine

The Russian Commissioner for Human Rights, Tatiana Moskalkova, announced the return of four employees of the Russian Atomic Energy Agency “Rosatom”, who had been taken hostage in Ukraine.
In a statement via Telegram, on Sunday, Moskalkova said that four employees of the Russian Atomic Energy Agency, Rosatom, had been taken hostage in Ukraine and had returned to Russia.
She explained that an exchange of Russian and Ukrainian prisoners took place last night, noting that “there are four Rosatom employees and our brave soldiers. They landed in Russia early this morning, and their families will see them soon.”
In the same context, Rosatom confirmed the return of its four employees who had been detained in Ukraine since February 23.

“We can confirm that they are back and we are grateful to everyone involved in editing our colleagues, and we expect them to return to their team after rest and recovery,” a Rosatom spokesman told reporters.
It is noteworthy that the detention of the four employees took place on February 23, when they were escorting a batch of nuclear fuel to Rivne NPP as scheduled and stipulated in their contractual obligations.

But the Ukrainian side detained the four employees, and did not agree to their return, and they remained inside a railway wagon at the factory until their return.
