The curtain comes down on Expo 2020 Dubai, on Thursday, March 31, with a grand closing ceremony in which international stars will participate, after the exhibition lasted for 182 days.
The Expo 2020 Dubai page on Instagram published a video of the countdown to the expo’s end date, inviting everyone to catch up with the Expo before its activities end.
International artists will participate in the closing ceremony, American singer Christina Aguilera, German singer Nora Jones and cellist Yo-Yo Ma, who will perform solo performances, distributed on the Jubilee Stage and Dubai Millennium Theatre, according to Al Khaleej newspaper.
The World String Expo 2020, a troupe of 16 talented international musicians, led by Maestro Harut Vaslian and Italian pianist Eleanor Constantini will take the stage.
Forty members of the UAE-based children’s choir will perform the country’s national anthem, accompanied by the Firdaws Women’s Orchestra, led by Yasmina Sabah.
The Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence in the UAE and Commissioner-General of Expo 2020 Dubai, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, will hand the flag of the BIE to the President of the General Assembly of the BIE, Jay Chul Choi, who in turn will hand it over to representatives of “Expo 2025” Osaka Kansai , at the end of the closing ceremony.
The closing ceremony will be broadcast live on the Expo virtual platform and Expo TV, and some of the special moments witnessed in Al Wasl Square, which is the heart of Expo 2020 Dubai.
The Expo 2020 Dubai opened its doors to visitors from all over the world on October 1, 2021, and the exhibition attracted millions of visitors, and 192 countries participated in the exhibition with distinctive pavilions, which reflected the culture, history and development of this country over time.
