It seemed such a jolly idea!
Sarah Ferguson, dressed in bright colours and silly hats, would read out children’s stories on YouTube to cheer up youngsters in lockdown.
Sadly, some authors did not see it that way.
‘Fergie and her team approached a few people to talk about working together,’ a source said.
‘At least one writer said they would prefer it if she didn’t read out their work.’
When the channel first launched, questions were raised about Fergie, 62, reading books publicly without permission from authors.
A process has now been put in place, her spokesman says – and my picture shows Sarah in Ukrainian colours on her channel last week.
Let’s hope the venture has a happy ending.
Golda’s bad hair days…
Spare a thought for Golda Rosheuvel, who plays Queen Charlotte in Bridgerton – the elaborate wig she wears in the Netflix hit is becoming a health hazard.
Golda, 52, says the huge creation is so heavy that she needs physio sessions and massages on her neck and back between takes.
Meanwhile, the show’s writer Julia Quinn has set her sights on the ultimate guest star: the real Princess Charlotte.
Julia named the six-year-old daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as top of her list of Royals she would like to make a cameo.
Now that really would be a Palace coup!
