Today, Tuesday, the Turkish Interior Ministry announced that 58,000 Ukrainians have entered Turkey since the start of the Russian military operation in late February.
“Since the start of the war in Ukraine, 58,000 Ukrainians have arrived in Turkey,” Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said in a televised statement.
He explained that “Turkey was one of the first countries that rushed to provide humanitarian aid to those fleeing the war.”
He added that the Turkish Emergency and Disaster Management Department has so far sent 51 trucks loaded with aid.
According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, in a statement, 3,489,644 refugees crossed from Ukraine to neighboring countries between February 24 and March 20, more than half of them headed to Poland.
