A virologist does not rule out the return of the “Covid” wave to Russia

The Russian virologist, Yevgeny Timakov, considers that a new wave of the Corona virus epidemic could break out in Russia next fall.

In an interview with the Russian “TASS” agency, he said that the number of infections with the Corona virus may increase next fall, as it will depend on the mutations of the virus that usually occur in the spring and autumn seasons.

On the other hand, the doctor said that it is difficult to predict when the virus will undergo a mutation. He added that sufficient herd immunity against the Corona virus had been formed in Russia. For this reason, the epidemiological conditions will stabilize in the summer season.

While the doctor called for vaccinating those who have been infected with the “Omicron” mutant and advised them to receive a vaccine before the hot season arrives so that they can tolerate the vaccination lightly.

It is reported that the Russian Minister of Health, Mikhail Murashko, said that March and April are the most appropriate months for revaccination.
