The Office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations announced that the body could not confirm the data on the development of weapons in biological laboratories in Ukraine, and had no information.
“The United Nations does not currently have any information confirming the statements about the development of weapons in biological laboratories on the territory of Ukraine,” the office of Antonio Guterres said in a statement.
Meanwhile, EU foreign ministry spokesman Peter Stano said that the EU had no information about any banned programs in biological laboratories in Ukraine.
“We are aware of the statement of the Russian Defense Ministry regarding the alleged destruction of biological agents in laboratories in Ukraine… We are not aware of any programs in Ukrainian laboratories that violate the Biological Weapons Convention,” Stano said in statements to “Sputnik” agency today, Wednesday.
According to Stano, such statements are treated with suspicion in the European Union.
On the facts of US military biological activities in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow does not rule out launching a consultation mechanism under the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological and Toxin Weapons.
Commenting on the information about US-funded biological laboratories in Ukraine, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lizkian urged the United States to clarify biological militarization activities at home and abroad.
